After a long day of travel, our team has finally arrived in Kenya. Tonight was about settling in, getting to know each other better, and sharing a meal together.
It felt so good to sit down around a table with this group. For some of us — myself, Dave, Kathy, and Sue — it was a chance to reconnect after previous Habitat builds we’ve shared over the years. For others — Eugenia, Daryl, and Katie — it was the start of a brand new adventure. But from the moment we sat down, it didn’t matter who had done this before and who was just beginning. The conversation flowed easily, full of laughter, connection, and a shared sense of purpose that already feels like the start of something meaningful.
Reflecting on the day, I’m reminded once again that this work is all about the people. It’s the lives we touch, the stories we share, and the bonds we create — whether we’re new to this journey or have done it before. When we come together with open hearts, we create something special.
Looking ahead, I’m excited for the hard work, the laughs, and the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of Regina, her family, and the community. Thanks for following our journey — we’re just getting started, and I can’t wait to share more soon.
